000 - Army Lessons Introduction
This is my "hello world" intro to a video series on lessons I learned while in the Army. https://scottdeluzio.com/lessons-i-learned-as-a-soldier-my-new-video-series/ -
001 - Integrity
Having integrity in business is just as important as in the army. Instill trust in your customers, employees, and anyone else who relies on you and your business to do the right thing. https://scottdeluzio.com/integrity-army-lessons/ -
002 - Slow is Smooth and Smooth is Fast
Working faster doesn't always equal getting the job done sooner. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast means get the job done right the first time to avoid having to re-do your work over and over till it gets done right. https://scottdeluzio.com/slow-is-smooth-and-smooth-is-fast/ -
003 - After Action Review
No one wants to make the same mistakes twice. Use after action reviews to debrief your team after any significant task or event. https://scottdeluzio.com/after-action-review/ -
004 - Battling Imposter Syndrome
https://scottdeluzio.com/battling-imposter-syndrome
Imposter Syndrome is one of those things that comes up a lot especially with freelancers, or new entrepreneurs who are going out on their own for the first time. "Am I good enough?", "What will everyone think of me if I fail?" Forget about what everyone else thinks. Focus on what makes you uniquely qualified from your work or life experiences to do what you do. -
005 - Leaders Eat Last
https://scottdeluzio.com/leaders-eat-last/
Despite the fact that senior soldiers have all the authority in the world to cut the line and chow down, they would never do that. It's a symbolic gesture, but it is a way to show that they care about the soldiers they're responsible for. -
006 - Be Prepared
Life throws you curveballs, be prepared so you aren't sidelined or worse for any longer than you need to be. https://scottdeluzio.com/being-prepared/ -
007 - Situational Awareness
https://scottdeluzio.com/situational-awareness/
In the military, knowing what is happening around you is critical to not only your mission's success but also to your own survival. The same can be said for the longevity of your business. If you aren't paying attention to what is happening in the world around your business, you might lose sight of opportunities or threats as they present themselves. -
008 - Business Decision Making
https://scottdeluzio.com/business-decision-making/
Making decisions in business can be overwhelming. Make your decisions quickly with the best information you have available to you at the time so you aren't stuck with "analysis paralysis". -
009 - Attitude Matters
https://scottdeluzio.com/attitude-matters/
Does someone on your team have a bad attitude? Do you notice the energy change when they walk in the room? It can be a serious drain on the rest of your organization when someone with a bad attitude brings everyone else down with them. -
010 - Selfishness v.s. Taking Care of Yourself
-
011 - Fog of Business
https://scottdeluzio.com/fog-of-business/
The Fog of War refers to the uncertainty that soldiers face in the heat of combat. What should be done is no longer quite as clear as it once was when the first shots are fired. Businesses face a similar fog, but leaders can empower employees, just like the military empowers soldiers to adapt and overcome this fog.
